Our Story

Electrical Distribution Equipment Testing Services for Utilities and Industry

It all started back in 1995 with a simple idea; provide practical, cost-effective electrical testing services to the Utility and Industrial sectors of southeastern Wisconsin. With two employees and 20+ years of experience, A. C. Engineering Company was born. Today our client list has expanded, technology has helped shape the industry, and yet we remain focused on that simple idea our founders established.

Bob Lavin

Founder & Engineer

Bob graduated from the University of Illinois in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Bob began his career with Westinghouse Engineering Services where he worked as an electrical testing engineer, project engineer, and manager in both Chicago and Milwaukee. After founding A. C. Engineering Company in 1995, Bob has continued to work as a field service engineer specializing in Industrial electrical distribution systems, system/coordination studies, and arc flash studies. Bob holds a Professional Engineering License with the State of Wisconsin.

Jason Lemke

Field Service Engineer

Jason graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Jason began working for A. C. Engineering Company while attending college and has continued in the testing, maintenance, and start-up of electrical distribution equipment with an emphasis in medium voltage protective relaying, controls, and distributed generation.

Dan Gies

Field Service Technician

Dan graduated from the Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2000. Dan joined A. C. Engineering Company in 2007 and rejoined in 2010. Dan is a senior field service technician with a diverse background in both electrical and mechanical systems. Dan specializes in job management, data centers, circuit breaker testing, and apparatus repair in industrial applications.

Sam Fassbender

Field Service Engineer / PE

Sam graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Previously Sam worked for two years as an intern with A. C. Engineering Company while attending school. Sam is a field service engineer focusing on medium voltage distribution equipment, SCADA systems, system/coordination studies, and arc flash studies. Sam holds a Professional Engineering License with the State of Wisconsin.

Matt Adams

Field Service Technician

Matt joined the A. C. Engineering Company team in 2018. Matt has a diverse background in field service work and currently specializes in circuit breaker testing while continuing his training as a field service technician.

Matt Meier

Field Service Engineer

Matt graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology and worked for a variety of utility companies prior to joining A. C. Engineering in 2020. Matt has over 15 years of industry experience, ranging from rebuilding 480V breakers to commissioning EHV transmission equipment and substations. Matt specializes in protective relay testing and advanced control circuit troubleshooting and commissioning.

Adam Romme

Field Service Technician

Previously Adam worked as an industrial electrician specializing in troubleshooting and repairing various electrical and industrial equipment. He has expanded his knowledge base by becoming a seasoned technician in the testing of low voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.

Jason Honick

Field Service Technician

Jason joined A. C. Engineering in 2023 and had over 20 years of industry field service experience. Jason's expertise ranges from infrared testing to the repair/testing of industrial electrical distribution equipment. Jason has extensive knowledge of legacy electrical equipment and mechanical systems.
